Solve the problem of water pump mechanical seal leakage

The water pump mechanical seal leakage is one of the most prone to failures in the water pump. Therefore, the water pump mechanical seal is also one of the key vulnerable parts in the water pump components. The mechanical seal material must be suitable for the user when selecting the water pump. For liquid media, usually the pumps are manufactured with fluororubber mechanical seals. Some manufacturers use nitrile rubber mechanical seals. If the corrosiveness is more serious, the mechanical seals made of PTFE should be used.

Steps/Methods:

1. The first possibility of water leakage at the mechanical seal is the surface wear of the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal. There are six reasons for the surface wear of the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal:

2. The installation is too tight. Observe the dynamic and static ring surfaces of the mechanical seal. If there is severe scorching, the surface becomes black and deep marks, the sealing rubber becomes hard and loses elasticity. This phenomenon is caused by over-tightening. Solution: Adjust the installation height. After the impeller is installed, use a screwdriver to pull the spring. The spring has a strong tension, and it will reset after loosening. The moving distance is 2-4MM.

3. Too loose installation. Observe the plane of the machine seal moving and static ring, there is a thin layer of scale on the surface, which can be wiped off, and the surface is basically free of wear. This is caused by the loss of elasticity of the spring and poor assembly, or the axial movement of the motor.

4. Poor water quality contains particles. Due to poor water quality, small particles and high hydrochloride content in the medium, the flat surface of the abrasive wear machine seal or the strained surface will produce grooves and ring grooves. Solution: Improve water pressure or medium, and replace mechanical seal.
